About the Temple
ในปีพ.ศ. 2551 พุทธศาสนิกชนชาวไทยในเมืองบลูมมิงตั้น รัฐอินเดียน่า ได้มีการปรึกษาหารือกันอย่างจริงจังที่จะก่อตั้งวัดไทยที่เมืองนี้ เนื่องจากรัฐอินเดียน่ายังไม่มีวัดไทยเลย ชาวไทยในเมืองบลูมมิงตั้นต้องเดินทางไปทำบุญกุศลที่วัดไทยในรัฐอื่นที่อยู่ไกลออกไป
เขตมอนโรทางตอนใต้ของรัฐอินเดียน่าเป็นสถานที่ที่เหมาะสมที่จะตั้งวัดไทย เนื่องจากมีภูมิทัศน์ที่สวยงาม สงบร่มรื่น และอยู่กึ่งกลางสามารถเดินทางมาได้อย่างสะดวกสบาย ดังนั้นในวันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2552 พุทธศาสนิกชนชาวไทยในเมืองบลูมมิงตั้นจึงพร้อมใจกันก่อตั้งวัดไทยขึ้นที่เลขที่ 3698 ถนน N Russell บนที่ดินขนาด 13.5 ไร่ (5 เอเคอร์)
The Buddhist community of Bloomington Indiana began talking seriously about establishing a Thai Buddhist Temple in Bloomington Indiana in 2008. It was recognized that there were no Thai Buddhist temples anywhere in Indiana, and that the follower of Thai Theravadin Buddhists had to travel far to practice their faith. Monroe County in Southern Indiana seemed to be perfect location to establish a Thai Theravadin Buddhist Temple as it would provide a beautiful, peaceful and central location for Indiana residents to visit. The Forest Temple of Southern Indiana ("Wat Pah Indiana" in Thai) was established at 3698 N Russell Road, 5 acre site, on February 4, 2009.
